Pattern and Severity of Traumatic Renal Injury: A Three-Year Study at Single Level One Trauma Center in Southern Iran

Background: Renal trauma is among the most important challenges. Better management of traumatic renal patients necessary to improve patients’ clinical outcome. Objectives: This study aimed analyze pattern, severity, mechanism injury, and outcome in trauma. Methods: cross-sectional was conducted largest center southern Iran from March 2018 June 2022. Adult with diagnosed based on abbreviated injury scale guideline were included. Variables age, gender, anatomy lenghth hospitalization, level blood pressure, severity have been collected. Results: In total, 4,416 admitted Emergency Department Hospital during time, which 46 cases had injury. The rate one 0.96%, death victims 12(26.1%). Most injured men 39(84.8%). Blunt dominant type 34(73.9%). Thirty-seven percent (n=17) victim mild (grade 1 2), 16(34.8%) severe 4 5). mostly associated thorax (n=46) as extra-abdominal organ liver (n=16) spleen (n=15) intra-abdominal Conclusion: results present showed that high, it usually by other body organs. It suggested should be immediately examined for resuscitation department due high mortality these patients.
